New Website Featuring Locally Produced Auto Parts
Fukuoka Prefecture unveiled in November 2008 a website called The Kyushu Auto Parts and Technology Exhibition Hall providing information on the technology and parts offered by local companies for car makers and large parts companies. In addition, from the 23rd to the 25th, a large business conference was held in Fukuoka City with the participation of 33 northern Kyushu-based companies interested in buying parts and 156 local companies hoping to supply parts.

The sharp downturn in the North American market has also had an impact on auto production in Kyushu, but the prefectural government's Commerce and Industry Division believes that promoting the increased participation of local companies in the auto industry takes precedence over creating new industries.
