Bio Valley Project
In April 2004, the Fukuoka
Bio Incubation Center (F-BIC) opened as a center specifically
dedicated to biotechnology research. The F-BIC has incubation
managers and business coordinators who provide support for the
commercialization of research seeds introductions to business
partners, and offer other services free of charge to support
the creation of new pharmaceuticals. The Kurume University Medical
School, Biotechnology and Food Research Institute, Fukuoka Industrial
Technology Center and other biotechnology-related research institutions
are located near the Center, offering excellent opportunities
for joint research.
Moreover, in spring 2007, Fukuoka Bio Factory, a rental factory for bio-ventures to produce biochips and reagents, opened. Being the Japan’s first plant specifically dedicated to bio production, the plant offers strong support for foreign bio companies’ business development. |
